Why the deer

Psalm 42 does not picture a deer drinking. It pictures a deer at a dry streambed, crying out. The Hebrew word for "pants" appears only twice in the whole Bible, and the other time it describes animals crying out in a drought. A lion drinks whenever it wants. A deer steps out of cover exposed, hunted, and only when the thirst is worth the risk.

That is the Christian. Not the strong one seeking God. The hunted one who will risk everything for one drink of Him.

Two stags stand on this crest for that reason. The animal that pants at the dry stream in Psalm 42 is the same animal that stands on the high places in Habakkuk 3:19. Same deer. Two ends of the story.

Care Instructions

Treat it right and the print will outlast the tee.

• Wait 24 hours after it arrives before the first wash

• Turn it inside out every time

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, with like colors

• No bleach, no fabric softener (softener breaks down the print)

• Tumble dry low or hang dry. Hang dry is best.

• Never iron directly on the print. If you must iron, inside out, low heat, no steam.

• Skip the dry cleaner
