We live surrounded by fine print, soft maybes, and promises with an escape hatch built in. People have learned to hedge, to keep their options open, to say one thing and quietly mean another. A follower of Christ is called to a different kind of speech. When you say yes, it should hold. When you say no, it should stand.
Jesus taught this in the Sermon on the Mount, telling His followers they had no need for elaborate oaths because plain, honest speech was enough. Years later James, writing to believers scattered across the world, repeated almost the same words. Two voices, one truth. In this present age of grace we do not keep our word to earn God's favor. We already have it, freely, through faith in Christ. We keep our word because we have been made new, and our honesty quietly points others to a faithful God who always keeps His.
This design carries both witnesses. The YES and the NO stand in bold red, marked by the crown of thorns, a reminder that the One who calls us to truth paid for us in full.
